Dr. Jasper Wieck, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the German Embassy New Delhi opened the stand of German Development Cooperation Organization GIZ at Vigyan Bhawan as German Contribution to the UN World Environment Day.
GIZ presents an attractive interactive platform highlighting the core activities of Indo-German Development Cooperation in the field of Environment Protection. Earlier on Saturday, June 2, Dr. Wieck gave the opening address to the Sustainable Lifestyle conference of the World Environment Day in New Delhi together with Dr. Aruna Sharma, Secretary, Minstry of Steel, Ashok Koshla, Development Alternatives and S.P.S. Parihar, Chairman Central Pollution Control Board. Dr. Wieck underlined that “Reusing, Repurposing and Recycling are core principles deeply enshrined in Indian tradition. There is no better place to hold the World Environment Day than in India.”
