The New Year begins with a classical sensation from Germany. The German National Youth Orchestra (BJO) will be performing in India - the Land of diversity, Rich Music, Art & Culture – for the first time in its history. The group of around 70 talented and distinguished young musicians will be on an India tour from 16th January until 28th January. The orchestra looks forward to enthrall the audiences in Mumbai, Goa and Chennai.
They are scheduled to perform at:
National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai -18th and 19th January
Kala Academy and Ravindra Bhavan (Theatre), Goa - 23rd and 24th January
Music Academy Madras, Chennai - 25th January.
The National Youth Orchestra is the official youth orchestra of the Federal Republic of Germany and consists of highly gifted young musicians between the ages of 14 and 19.
The orchestra was established in 1969 and rehearses in Bonn. It is a project of the German Music Council (Deutscher Musikrat) – an umbrella organization for more than 90 professional music-associations and the 16 state music-councils of Germany.
