In the interests of public health and safety, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany must temporarily restrict public traffic until further notice to prevent the outbreak of corona viruses (COVID-19 epidemic).

We are back for you to a limited extent. In case of a residence permit for blue cards, work visas, skilled immigration, master's students and highly qualified bachelor students, scholarship holders, scientists, internships as part of their studies, self-employed, family reunification. Also in case of Schengen visa for emergencies such as death of a close relative, pregnancy of the daughter, births, marriage of children, trips to the core family (spouse, minor children and parents of minor children), transit visas and seafarers.
In the case of family reunification, the appointments that were canceled during the lockdown are being processed chronologically and those applicants whose appointments could not take place will be informed of a new appointment by VFS. New appointments can only be booked after the backlog has been processed.

Now you can have copies of your relevant documents attested from the German Embassy for submission in Germany (for study and job seeker / employment purposes only, for other purposes please contact the German Mission directly) in an easy, swift process via VFS:

At the time of your appointment, please present:
• your passport and copy,
• proof of need of attestation (e.g. letter from German university, medical council, etc.),
• your original documents and copies at the attestation service counter at VFS.
VFS will then prepare your documents and collect the attestation fees (additional service and handling charges as applicable), send your set of documents to the German Embassy and return the attested copies to you via courier service.
