Germany and India signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of environmental protection as far back as September 1998. Since then, cooperation has also expanded to management of waste, water and renewable energies.
Our development cooperation addresses India’s concerns in terms of environment and climate change. It has a specific focus on the areas of natural resource management and urban environment protection, climate change adaptation and mitigation, as well as innovative green technologies.
