- holder of German or EU scholarship as student or researcher
If your family member already has a residence permit and you are unsure whether it falls under one of the categories mentioned above: The words/numbers in brackets indicate the words/numbers printed in the “Type of permit” or “Remarks” section on the residence permit card. The numbers are the corresponding sections of the German Residence Act. If you wish to travel to Germany together: Please note that dependents cannot accompany their family member to their visa appointment. Every dependent has to book a separate appointment. Please make sure that the appointment of the dependent is at least one day later than the appointment of their spouse/parent who obtains the visa of the above-mentioned category.

Re-entry (Wiedereinreise) This category is only for applicants who already have a valid German residence permit, but have lost/damaged it during their stay in India.
