Please find below a guideline for booking the correct visa category if you want to apply at the Consulate in Mumbai.

Kindly keep in mind that our jurisdiction covers Maharashtra, the Union States of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Union Territories of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

Apply online or in paper form:

Apply online
You can apply for your visa online in selected categories via the Consular Services Portal. You will receive feedback as to whether your documents are complete. You can adjust and correct documents directly. Your appointment at the Consulate or at VFS will then be quick and efficient: you present the requested original documents as well as your passport, provide your biometric data (fingerprints and photograph) and pay the visa fee.

Apply in paper form
Alternatively, you can apply for your visa same as before without a digital pre-check. Please note that appointments for applications in paper form are often tight and the online application offers you the advantages mentioned above.

Please note that due to limited capacities waiting times may apply. If appointment slots are fully booked, you will have the possibility to register on a waiting list via VFS. Registrations on the waiting list will receive a notification once new appointment slots are available. You will receive an email on your registered email ID informing you about your appointment status once the appointments are released.
