We are excited to announce the launch of a new, streamlined visa application system (Consular Service Portal). This new platform is designed to improve the application experience for visa applicants, making the process faster, more efficient, and user-friendly.

As this is currently only a test phase, the portal is only available to applicants who live in the Indian states of Karnataka or Kerala and are applying for a visa in the following categories:

• Employment: Blue Card - § 18g AufenthG
• Employment: holders of academic degree - § 18b AufenthG
• Employment: holders of vocational degree (incl. nurses with full recognition in Germany) - § 18a AufenthG
• Opportunity Card - § 20a AufenthG

As soon as the test phase is completed, the portal will be available throughout India. Further application categories will be added over time.

After you have registered and uploaded your documents online, our external service provider VFS Global will check whether they are complete. After the review you will then be assigned with an exclusive appointment by VFS Global.

For all applicants who do not currently live in Karnataka or Kerala and are not applying for a visa in the above-mentioned categories, there is no change to the previous application process at this time.
