The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany Bengaluru invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Visa Officer (40 hours/week) beginning from April 2025.


Responsibilities:
- receiving, processing and filing visa applications
- checking validity and genuineness of documents submitted
- interviews and correspondence with applicants in person, in written or on the phone
- data entry into the electronic visa system
- printing and sticking visas
- administrative support of the Entry Clearance Officers

Requirements:
- bachelor’s degree and/ or a min. of 2 years work experience in a related field
- fluency in written and spoken English and one of the following languages:
Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil
- good computer skills and command of standard office applications
- highly organised team player with the ability to work independently and under pressure
- good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with different people
- willingness to work in a multicultural environment
- knowledge of the German language on a B1 level would be an advantage


The Consulate General offers a one-year contract with the possibility of renewal. The starting salary will be 62,149 INR (basic), with proof of German language on B1 level 68,364 INR gross per month + transport and housing allowance of 7,500 INR. We take part in Employees' Provident Fund (EPF).

Please understand that the Consulate General can only accept complete applications received within the given deadline. We will only contact candidates who will be invited to the interview in the Consulate General. Travel expenses for attending the interview cannot be reimbursed.

Please note that this position is not eligible for remote work and that the Consulate General cannot grant a relocation allowance. If successful, you will be subject to security and medical checks prior to taking up employment. Third country nationals need to have a valid residence permit including work permit for India.
