The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany Bengaluru invites applications for the full-time position of assistant visa & consular officer (40 hours/week) beginning from July 2026.


Responsibilities:
- answering messages by visa applicants, German citizens and Indian or German institutions or authorities, predominantly in written form (both in German and English)
- interviews and correspondence with visa applicants in person, in written form or on the phone
- administrative support of the Entry Clearance Officers

Requirements:
- bachelor’s degree and/or a min. of 2 years work experience in a related field
- knowledge of the German language at least on a B2 level, preferably C1 or C2
- fluency in written and spoken English
- good computer skills and command of standard office applications
- highly organised team player with the ability to work independently and under pressure
- good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with different people
- willingness to work in a multicultural environment

The Consulate General offers a one-year contract with the possibility of renewal. The starting salary will be 79.800 INR (basic) gross per month + transport and housing allowance of 7.500 INR. We take part in Employees' Provident Fund (EPF).

Please note that this position is not eligible for remote work and that the Consulate General cannot grant a relocation allowance. If successful, you will be subject to security and medical checks prior to taking up employment. Third country nationals need to have a valid residence permit including work permit for India.
