We would like to circulate some important messages regarding the processing for Schengen visa applications.

The following group of applicants is affected by this update:

In our constant endeavour to improve the internal processes we would like to announce that from now onwards our visa centre in Mumbai is processing Schengen visa applications from all over India. Please bear in mind: this affects the processing of applications and not the submission!

Our external service provider VFS Global will continue to stay our partner for submission of applications. Currently the following visa applications centers (VAC) are open:

New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Panaji, Cochin, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Puducherry, Kolkata.

Additionally, the VAC in Chandigarh is scheduled to be re-opened in November, 2022!
Therefore, regardless in which VAC you hand in your Schengen visa application, VFS will send all Schengen visa applications to our Schengen visa center in the German Consulate General Mumbai.

Moreover, we would like to inform you that our Schengen checklists will be updated soon. Kindly check the current versions on our website in order to submit a complete application!
